These seats are designed for the hardcore track racer with specific requirements in mind to both safety, and certification. Most, if not all sanctioned racing bodies will require the usage of seats with a certain safety seal, such as FIA 8855. For this reason, “Sport” seats or any other non-homologated aftermarket buckets are not permitted on most racetracks. Even though they may look nice, they are not rated for high-speed impacts or the sort of aerobatics that are generally part and parcel of competitive motorsport. Meaning simply that if you send the car tumbling end over end into a tire wall, there’s no guaranteeing your seat won’t do the same inside the cockpit.
